Matthew was born in Exeter, Devon, England on April 3rd 1978. He is the youngest of five, one brother, two half brothers and one half sister. He grew up in the village of Clyst St. Mary in Devon with his father, who was a geologist, and a mother, who was a nurse and also an amateur theatre director. He studied drama at the University of Birmingham before continuing his training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.


Matthew's significant other is Sophie Dymoke and together they have one daughter, Matilda Eve Goode, born on March 1, 2009. They also have a dog called Maggie.

Why he's so hot: Sexy, smoldering eyes. Deep, rumbling voice. Exudes with British charm and confidence and then there's the accent that all women are such suckers for!!

He's not afraid to play a gay character (which to me is incredible hot) and he can be extremely funny ('My family and other animals' 'Leap Year'), a total badass villain, even with an asthma inhaler ('The Lookout') and can also play a very serious and dramatic role ('Brideshead Revisited').

He's very intelligent and well spoken (aside from the occasional swear... but that only makes him hotter!!) and isn't afraid to speak his mind about everything and anything. Also, the way he smokes a cigarette is incredibly hot... (but of course smoking is bad!)

Sexiest role: While he is undeniably hot in everything he does, the scruffy beard and the Irish accent in 'Leap year' is probably the role that makes most girls weak in the knees! I should know, I've seen it at least 6 times by now ;)  I recommend listening to the line "She paid me.." just before Jeremy's proposal to Anna, over and over, and you'll understand why I've seen this movie so many times, and why I'm gonna watch it many times again!!
